Abstract	Leon W. Miller was considered to be the "dean" of the university faculty in rears of service to Wisconsin State University - La crosse up until his ret1reaent in 1967. He aided greatly in the development of the Physical Education Department's outstanding reputation tor wellrounded preparedness and academic excellence. During his tenure, Mr. Miller taUght and participated in almost everJ area. He initiated competitive tennis, coached the basketball team, initiated the Aluan1 Bulletin, helped 1n the developaent of the Mens' Intramural Athletic Association, and served as Associate Director of the Physical Education Department.
