Abstract | This photograph was published in the La Crosse Tribune on April 19, 1962. The photograph's caption reads: "City crews Wednesday resurfaced 4th Street between King and Jay to eliminate the chuckholes brought on by repeated freezing and thawing. Jay Street and 5th Avenue were being resurfaced Thursday. Public Works Director Carl A. Wahlstrom said the work is temporary, since a general resurfacing of downtown streets is planned next year." On the envelope housing the negative is written: "April 18, 1962. Repairing streets - King & Jay on Front St." |
