Abstract
| This photograph was published in the La Crosse Tribune on December 3, 1962. The photograph's caption reads: "Members of the Newman Club of La Crosse State College load boxes of used clothing for shipment overseas. The clothing was obtained during the annual Catholic Bishops' Appeal conducted during Thanksgiving week. From left are Charles McQuillan, Dennis Gall, Larry Connor and James Teff. Other boxcars were loaded at Eau Claire, Marshfield and Wausau. Officials of the Diocese of La Crosse estimate approximately 140,000 pounds of clothing were collected in the drive."
On the envelope housing the negative is written: "December 1, 1962. Clothing drive. Members of T.C. Newman club loading boxcar." |
