Abstract	A black and white photograph featuring a Cuban refugee that sewed an American flag on his cap, and the photograph became a symbol of the La Crosse Tribune coverage of the Freedom Flotitta. This award-winning photograph was taken by the La Crosse Tribune photographer Steve Noffke, and it was the covershot for the La Crosse Tribune's special issue titled "In Search of Freedom: The Cuban Odyssey," published October 20, 1980.
